About Dateotoko

Dateotoko (δΌŠι”ζΌ’) is Nightmare’s official fanclub. Upon joining Dateotoko, members get the following:

  • Membership card
  • Shipping privileges on goods
  • 4 issues of the Fan Magazine each year
  • Latest information on offers
  • Priority in getting pre-sale concert tickets
  • Limited edition member goods
  • Fanclub events and trips (scheduling is irregular and undetermined. For Japan fans only.)
  • Birthday card and Christmas card
  • Access to the Dateotoko members only website, including the members-only online blogs

For first-time joiners, a fee of 6,000 yen is to be paid (2,000 yen for entrance fee, 4,000 yen for yearly fee). This fee must be paid in Japanese yen, as they do not accept international money orders of any kind.

The entrance fee is only paid once.

For those who are already members of the fanclub, only the yearly fee of 4,000 yen is paid.

If you have a friend in Japan who’s also a member, he/she can order pre-sale items, limited edition tour goods for you since you need a Japanese address for this. You can also use the Tenso Mailing site as well.

There are two ways to sign up for Dateotoko:

1. Online submission via Nightmare’s website. However, you will need a Japanese address to fill in the information.

Upon submitting your online form, you should be getting two confirmation emails within the time frame of your completed registration. The two respective emails should contain:

Your membership number
Temporary password

In one of those emails, there should be a link where you can click to log in with the temporary password they gave you. After doing so, feel free to change the password to your liking. For security purposes, you’ll need to type in your new password twice.

2. Physical Certified mail. For overseas fans, this is what you need to do:

  1. Write your name (they would prefer you to write your name in furigana but since the majority of our names are foreign, the suggested action is to try to write your name in katakana, if possible. You can always ask a friend or pen pal who knows Japanese to help with this), birth date, address, telephone number, and email address on a piece of paper.
  2. Along with your information, include 6,000 yen in a concealed envelope. It’s advised from the staff that you insure your letter with a tracking number to guarantee a safe delivery and insures against loss.
  3. Mail it to:

    JAPAN γ€’162-0831
    Tokyo-to Shinjuku-ku
    Yokoteramachi 32 TR Kagurazaka Bldg.
    Official Fanclub “Date Otoko”

  4. Once they receive your mail, the staff will enter your information on their database. You should receive a non-addressed letter, requesting how you would like your password for the online fanclub access to be sent (either by paper mail or e-mail) with your Dateotoko member card number.

If you want to get the latest information on Dateotoko, simply type in your email to opt in. They will then send another email, explaining the fan club benefits. Click the button on the left side to accept the benefits and it will take you to a form page for you to fill out your information (name. address, etc). After everything’s done, enjoy the site!

The first physical mail you get from Dateotoko should contain the latest magazine, your membership card, and a card holder (comes in different colors). Be sure to keep your membership card somewhere safe. If you lose it, there’s a 500 yen penalty fee for re-issuing.

Remember this is a yearly membership, so you will need to renew it. They will send you various notices via email and on the page when you log in about your membership expiring. Upon renewal, you can either send 4,000 yen via insured mail or pay online with a credit card if you have one.

Should you have any questions regarding anything Dateotoko related, you can email them at dateotoko@nightmare-web.com. Unfortunately, the staffers can only read and respond to Japanese emails only. You can try your hand at writing it yourself or ask a friend/pen pal/anyone who knows Japanese to write it for you.

Good luck!
